During 2020 (April-November) Italian Climate Network developed a research, communication and advocacy project on the themes of the European Green Deal applied to the Italian reality. The project, developed with the ESTà – Economia e Sostenibilità association and funded by the European Climate Foundation, was entitled “Green New Deal for Italy: achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and guard citizens and companies from climate impacts. Research, communication, advocacy on the benefits of the Green New Deal for Italy” and provided for the publication of monthly in-depth articles on the European Green Deal, the main impacts of national climate and energy policies, the drafting of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, while ESTà proceeded with the drafting of a scientific, macroecnomic report oriented by the question “how to reconcile ecological transition and emission reduction with the creation of wealth and new jobs?” The final report, entitled “The Green Deel is advantageous. Benefits for the economy and employment in Italy by 2030″ was presented on 7 October 2020 within the ASVIS Festival of Sustainable Development, then on 15 April 2021 in collaboration with JCI Italy to the wider international audience.
